The Situation —
An extremely large online retailer requires to load and unload vehicles in an enclosed indoor space. Vehicles emit Carbon Monoxide, a poisonous gas with no smell or taste. This is extremely dangerous as it can kill if you are exposed to high levels. Even low levels of Carbon Monoxide can cause shortness of breath, tiredness and confusion, feeling sick, stomach pain and dizziness.
The Solution —
We supplied a bespoke Car Park Ventilation solution linked to an intelligent control system which keeps the air fresh, and optimises energy efficiency of the system.
Carbon monoxide sensors trigger fans which direct the contaminated air in a pre-planned direction. The air is directed to the main extract fans which then discharge to atmosphere at high level. The fans adjust their speed to suit the carbon monoxide levels, therefore reducing energy usage.
